Acoustic Windows
Acoustic windows are specially engineered windows designed to significantly reduce external noise and create a quieter indoor environment. They are commonly used in residential, commercial, and institutional buildings located in noisy urban areas, near highways, airports, or railways.
The key feature of acoustic windows is their multi-layered construction. They typically use double or triple glazing with asymmetrical or laminated glass panes and an air or inert gas-filled cavity between the panes. The combination of different glass thicknesses and laminated interlayers disrupts sound waves, effectively blocking and dampening a wide range of noise frequencies. High-quality frames—usually made of uPVC, aluminium with thermal breaks, or timber—are tightly sealed to prevent gaps through which sound could pass.
