A sliding mesh is a retractable insect-screen system designed for windows, balcony doors, and large patio openings that operate on a horizontal track, much like a sliding glass door. Instead of rolling or folding, the mesh panels glide smoothly from side to side within slim aluminium frames, offering continuous protection against mosquitoes, flies, and dust while allowing natural airflow and daylight.

The mesh itself is usually made of UV-resistant fiberglass or polyester coated with PVC, which maintains clear outward visibility and resists sagging over time. Sliding mesh systems are popular for wide openings such as French doors, verandas, or living-room patios because they allow large, unobstructed views and easy access without the need to lift or pull anything vertically. Frames can be powder-coated in various colours to blend with décor, and maintenance is minimal—periodic cleaning of the tracks and mesh keeps the system looking and functioning like new.
