Top Hung Windows
Top-hung windows (also called awning windows in some regions) are outward-opening windows hinged at the top. The sash pivots from the upper frame, while the bottom edge swings outward when you push or crank it open. A friction hinge or stay keeps the sash securely in place at various angles.

- Sash: The moving panel of glass and frame.
- Hinges/Friction Stays: Specialized top-mounted hardware that supports outward motion and holds the sash at the desired opening angle.
