When a standard window will not do
The opening is not a rectangle
Arched, circular, triangular, trapezoidal, raked to follow a roof pitch. Each one needs profiles bent, cut or mitred to a specific geometry and glass shaped to match. Arched windows are the most common of these.
The opening is bigger than standard sections will carry
Beyond a certain width or height, a standard profile flexes under wind load or sags under glass weight. The answer is a deeper section, heavier steel reinforcement, or splitting the opening into a structurally sensible arrangement of lights. That is an engineering decision rather than a catalogue one.
The building has a character to match
Heritage and society-controlled buildings often require that new windows match the existing external appearance. We record the sightlines, glazing-bar layout, colour and reveal depth of an existing window and reproduce them in a modern system — so the elevation is unchanged and the performance is not.
The window is doing several jobs at once
A fixed picture pane with a top-hung opener above and a casement beside it, in one frame. Combining operations sensibly usually gives a better room than choosing one type for the whole opening.
What we can vary
Shape and size — templated on site.
Operation — any combination of fixed, casement, top-hung, tilt-and-turn, sliding and pivot in one frame.
Material — uPVC or aluminium, chosen for the span and the thermal requirement.
Glass — from obscure and patterned through to acoustic, laminated and solar-control builds. See glass options.
Finish — foiled woodgrains and solid colours, or powder coating to a specified shade, and the inside does not have to match the outside. See colour options.
Hardware — handle patterns, finishes, restrictors, child locks and concealed hinges.
How a bespoke job runs
- Site visit and templating. For anything non-rectangular we take a physical template rather than dimensions, because an old arch is never the arch on a drawing.
- Drawing and approval. You see the proposed sightlines and divisions before anything is cut.
- Fabrication in Bhandup West. Profiles bent, cut and welded to the drawing; glass ordered to shape.
- Installation and handover. Fitted and checked as any other window — see window installation.
Why in-house manufacture matters here
A firm that buys finished windows and fits them can only offer what its supplier makes. Because we fabricate our own, a non-standard opening is a size to make rather than a problem to work around — and if something needs adjusting later, it comes back to the people who made it.
Send photos of the opening with dimensions across the widest and tallest points, and tell us what you want it to look like. That is enough to start.
